This builds a community of disciplined citizens for both defence and disaster response for Britain, and creates a skilled workforce that helps put skilled people into priority industries.
The outcome for this service will have a service record that the citizen can put on their CV showing their skills off. Employers can then prioritize those with a completed service record, and give those who have completed their service a way into university, should the citizen want to further their education, or into apprenticeships and national industries with guaranteed placement.
To celebrate this service, an Annual Service Day will be introduced, showcasing the newest cohort ready to undertake the service.
In times of natural disaster, national emergency, or external threat, citizens trained in this programme will be Britain's first line of defence and resilience.
